Art from leaves of trees

When 5-6 years old children spoke about the importance of water in our lives, they found out that the leaves of trees are very helpful to create their works of art. It turned out that they can be trasformed into fish creating scenes from the underwater world.

 Autumn inside our group

Children (2-4 years old) and teacher in the autumn spoke about changes in nature. They went outside to observe the trees and other changes in nature. During their everyday walk they picked the colourful maple leaves and brought them to the group.
Together they created a colourful autumn decoration for the group - creating autumn mood in their group. First, they painted maple tree leaves with gouache paint and made stamps on colourful cardboard. When the paint had dried, they glued the maple leaves on the cardboard.

 Designing from nature materials

In the morning teacher and children (5-6 years old) talked about the parts of the trees and different trees in our country. During everyday walk in autumn children went to the park and observed the trees. They compared how they have changed during the summer. During the walk the teacher gave them different tasks: find 5 birch tree leaves, find one big and one small branch, find two pine cones and two fir tree cones, etc.
Then they went to the basketball cout in the park and children had to create from the gathered material an owl - the symbol of their group.

 Trees around me

Children, 5-6 years old, together with teacher are talking about different trees. Teacher has brought leaves of different trees. Together they are watching and touching them; children tell which leaf belongs to which tree. Together they clarify that there are different trees: deciduous tree and coniferous trees. They clarify the difference between those.
During the outside walk the tracher encourages children to observe trees and describe the colours            they see in their leaves. Children pick leaves to bring to the kindergarten. After that teacher invites        children to create their own park.
First of all, children pick a paper roll and colour it in the respective colour of the tree they have            chosen (it will be the trunk of the tree). While the trunk of the tree is getting dry, they are preparing         leafage - they cut out from cardboard the siluete of leafage. Then, they cut the collected leaves in           small pieces and glue them to the cardboard.
While everything is drying, they prepare the ground where the tree will be statnding - cover a piece            of cardboard with plasticine, supplement with details.

Everything being dry, children attach the trunk to the leafage, embed tree in the "ground". Together they have created a wonderful autumn park.
